Men's Cooking Class
The Pulteneytown People's Project has been working with these three men to create delicious dishes as part of a cooking course.
Coming every Wednesday, the gentlemen are taught how to create good, wholesome, homemade meals, and bake treats in the form of cakes and puddings.
So far the class has been busy making mince and tattie soup, cullen skink, lasagne, pork kebabs, shortbread, bread and butter pudding, fairy cakes and pies of all shapes, sizes and ingredients. At the end of each day everyone gets a large slice of what's been made to take home and enjoy.
The gentlemen are delighted with the class.
Robin More said: “I would definitely say that eating what we make in the Cooking Class is the best part, but I also enjoy learning and cooking the food too. The class has made me much more confident in cooking. I feel much happier going home and having a go at cooking something myself."
Berty Webster added: "We’ve been coming now for about seven weeks to the course. We all go to the Pensioners Computer Class as well and we use that class to type up our notes from here and use the computers to search for recipes to make. It’s brilliant how we can use both courses together like that.”
Funding for the course was provided by the Highland Council Adult Learning in the Highlands initiative.
