What an After School Club Can Offer You

The After School Club now offers a pick up and drop off service for children who attend PulteneytownAcademy, Hillhead and Wick North primaries. Children are picked up from their school by MAASK staff, taken by minibus to the MAASK Club run at Pulteney Centre, and then dropped off at their home between 5-5.30pm. The children play in a safe environment with qualified staff and we have a varied programme that allows us to suit the needs of most children. Interested parents and children are welcome to come along to visit the club to see the activities on offer.

This is a very popular service so if you require using the minibus service it is essential that you book in advance. For parents already using this service could you please ensure that your child's place is booked in on the Monday morning no later than 10am on the week they need this service.

Can we also remind you that if your child is unable to attend MAASK could you please let the office know. We have on several occasions gone to pick up a child only to find they are not there and then we have to look for this child. This affects our pick-up system.

The cost is £4.00 per session and this includes supervised transport to and from the club.

Breakfast Club Charges are £2 per week or £1.00 per individual session.

All costs include snacks, drinks and activities.

Afternoons

Afternoon sessions offer a wide range of play opportunities with enough resources available to meet everyone's needs. Sports include badminton, tennis, parachute games, football, cricket, rounders and ball games. We have well stocked arts and crafts boxes from which children can choose a variety of craft materials. The Nintendo WII has been very popular and is great for co-ordination, movement and fitness. We also have Nintendo DS's which the children love using.

There is a great range of toys for the kids to play with including scooters, go-karts, tractors, dolls and prams, board games, books, farm yard, train-set, figures (Scooby-Doo, My Little Pony, Polly Pocket), pirate boats, keyboard, trampoline, cars and mats and dressing up.

It is not advisable for children to take their own toys into MAASK due to the fact that they may get lost or broken, however if a child does take a toy it is entirely their responsibility and MAASK won't be accountable for any lost or broken toys.

Children can do their homework at MAASK and staff are able to assist them with this.

Outdoor play is still available most days until it becomes dark in the afternoons.

We try and incorporate a range of activities to suit all ages and abilities, however if you have any ideas please do not hesitate in contacting a staff member.

Just a reminder...children will need to own a pair of gym shoes for MAASK. This will help protect their feet. We have on several occasions gone outside during a fire drill exercise and half of the children have nothing on their feet.

Concerns/Issues

If you have any concerns regarding your child please contact a staff member.

Parental Questionnaires

You will soon receive a questionnaire for our club. Can you please fill this in and put it back to us as it is a requirement from the Care Commission that these are completed. It also helps us to evaluate our service.
